Laurent Ciman was born in Farciennes, Belgium on Aug. 5, 1985. After several years’ unremitting efforts, he gradually grew into an excellent professional defender for Montreal Impact of Major League Soccer and Belgium national football team. In 2004, he accomplished the first appearance with youth system of Charleroi. For outstanding performances and great potentials, he caught the attentions and interests of top Belgian football club. After signing a three-year agreement with the Club Brugge, he moved to the Club Brugge in Jun. 2008. But he was loaned to Kortrijk in the 2009–10 season.
After played for the Club Brugge, he became a regular member of Standard Liège by a four-year contract with Standard Liège. In the period cooperating with the football club, he accumulated eight goals in 194 matches prior to leaving the club in 2015. For unparalleled talents and competitive advantages, he gradually turned to a regular member of the Belgium national football team for the 2008 Olympics. In 2010, he accomplished his first international appearance for Belgium in a friendly against Bulgaria.
